Your natural teeth is reshaped and an impression is taken for a replica model of you teeth or your teeth is digitally scanned. This impression model or digital file is sent to our dental lab where your individualized porcelain veneers are fabricated. Temporary composite veneers are placed on whilst the permanent porcelain veneer is made.

On the day of your porcelain veneer fitting, the temporary composites are removed. The permament porcelain veneers are fitted and cemented into place on the teeth. A quick quality assurance check made to check on your bite and for any re-adjustments of your new porcelain veneers.

A re-check visit is normally recommended after veneer fitting to check for any discomfort or issues. You should follow post care treatment wear your mouthguard daily to protect your porcelain veneers from chipping.

The procedure for composite veneers differs slightly from that of porcelain veneers. Composite veneers are applied directly on teeth without the need for laboratory work. This means that your dentist may be able to complete your composite veneers within one visit.

If composite veneers is opted, your cosmetic dentist prepares your teeth. After comfirming teeth color shades, shape and length, the composites is applied over teeth surfaces. Your restorative dentist confirms the aesthetic look of your composite veneers with you before it is permanently adhered. A check is done on your bite.

If you have just fitted dental veneers, you may feel some discomfort during the first few days. To help any sensitivity or swelling, rinse your mouth with warm salt water. The sensitivity will gradually decrease and disappear. Avoid chewing on or eating hard foods on the restorations for 24 hours from the time they were fitted.

Dental veneers require the same regular and consistent home and professional dental care as your natural teeth. Brush and floss your teeth after eating and before bedtime around the dental veneer with a soft toothbrush, especially where the veneer meets the gum line. You can rinse with fluoride before bedtime for at least a minute to maintain good oral health.

When eating, becareful about chewing on toffees, gum, grainy rolls and tough food over your veneers. Do visit your dentist for regular professional check-ups and cleanings bi-annually.
