1. Preparations
During your consultation visit, your implantologist assesses our with you bone condition and implant positioning. A panoramic x-ray and possible CT scan is done.
2. Installment of implants
Your dental implant posts are placed on the day or surgery. Either 2 or 4 implants may be embedded to hold your final dentures in place. The implants are left to heal for about 2 months or more. Your exisiting dentures or new set of temporary dentures may be done for wear during the healing period.
3. Attaching overdenture
Once your implant posts are properly integrated, your prosthodontist makes dental appointment to attach a bar, ball or locator over dental implant posts. The final overdenture is then securely installed on top of the implants..
4. End result
Take care of your new dentures simliar with how you would care traditional dentures. You will however be able to tell the difference that the dental implants provide a much better retention and confidence to wearing full dentures.
